Floor Lamp gets New Live as a Ceiling Lamp: DIY
My child in his infinite wisdom decided to knock over his lamp, ruining the floor lamp. My son's room does not have a ceiling fixture, why that is? I am assuming it has to do with the age of our house or the vaulted ceiling in his room. Since he is too young to know better, a new table lamp or otherwise was not a good idea.
I reused most on the old lamp. In converting the lamp there were a few parts I needed to add or replace because they were messed up in the process of crashing to the ground. What is NEW? Socket, Shade, Hook, Chain, and Coupling.
After living with NO artificial light in my son's room for months it feels good having LIGHT. Once connecting a planter hook to the ceiling, I plugged the light in to the outlet which is connected to a light switch. It is much easier to see going into his room now. All I have to do is flip a switch where as before I had to open his curtains or make sure the hall light was on depending on if is was night or day.
