The Book that Keep me Going
Whenever I was down and thought "Why am I doing this?" Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success gave me the encouragement I needed. Steve Harvey in this book isn't all fluffy and "all your dreams will come true." Harvey is realistic and tells you that you will fail but it is also encouraging at the same time.
When I first read Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success part of me was worried about the short comings in my resume. However one comment set those worries at bay and gave me the confidence I needed. "Warren Buffet... would not invest in any business where the owner hasn't failed at least twice." (page 33) After that page I was sold, hook line and sinker. It just got better after that.
Harvey does not only give you encouragement but tools to set good goals, ask you to dream big and take evaluation of the people who influences your life. Chapter 10, "Man on a Rope," really helped me filter out all the opinions in my life and keep the positive ones in the forefront of my brain. For me stepping out and starting a blog, spending money that I can not earn right away, is hard. However Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success gave me the motivation to stay the path I know is the right one even though many other people think I should be do going another direction. I know there are many things I can do to earn money quickly but they are not the things I am passionate about. My goals, idea of success is not to earn lots of money. It is to do something I enjoy. I have a long ways to go but I am confident and encouraged by Steve Harvey that I am doing the right thing.
